• Are leases created on LawLease legally binding?

  Yes — once all required parties sign, the document is binding under U.S. contract law and the federal E-SIGN Act. Each signature includes an audit trail (signer identity, IP, timestamp, document hash) appended to the final PDF.
• Which states are supported?

  We currently support Texas residential leases, with full Texas Property Code Chapter 92 disclosures baked in. We add new states each quarter — email hello@lawlease.org if you need a state we don't yet support and we'll let you know when it's ready.
• How does e-signing work?

  After you finish the wizard, you place signature/initials/date fields on the PDF and email each tenant a secure signing link. They click the link, sign in their browser, and the executed PDF is automatically sent to all parties.
• How long do I have access to my documents?

  Active accounts have unlimited access to drafts and executed leases. After account deletion we retain executed contracts for 7 years (per US contract retention norms) and remove drafts within 30 days.
• Can I cancel my subscription?

  Yes — anytime from your account settings. Access continues through the end of the billing period. We offer pro-rated refunds on a case-by-case basis; email billing@lawlease.org.
• Is my information secure?

  All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Signing tokens are hashed before storage. We use role-scoped database access and short-lived signed URLs for any document download. We have never had a security breach and we will notify you within 72 hours if we ever detect one.

Found a security issue? Email security@lawlease.org with a description and reproduction steps. We’ll acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to remediate within 7 days for critical issues. We don’t currently run a paid bug bounty, but we publicly credit researchers (with permission) on our security page.
